When producing a product as innovative and revolutionary as this, people are always going to want to know more. What we have done is answer some of the most frequently asked questions about our products. We hope this will give you a better understanding of Maximus (Pvt) Limited and what happens before you receive your goods.
How long does it take to make Elephant Dung Paper?
The whole production process takes about 13 days. The drying process takes 3 days. This involves sorting, boiling and disinfecting. It then takes a further 10 days to pulp, mix, press and dry the paper.

How much paper can we produce per day / week / month?
At the current production capacity our factory can produce 1000 sheets of 28 inches x 32 inches (standard production size) each day. 30000 per month. From each standard size sheet, six A4 sheets can be cut.

What sizes and weights of paper do we produce?
Our paper is usually sold deckle -edged (rough edged) at the size detailed above. On request paper can be cut to wrapping paper size, A4 or A3.
Our paper weights ranges from 90 – 120 gsm.
Our card weight ranges from 210 – 250 gsm.
Paper and card can be made to order anywhere between these weight ranges. We are able to produce card up to 2 / 2.5 inches thick.

Is the Elephant Dung Paper Hygienic and safe to handle?
Yes the Elephant Dung Paper is completely safe to touch and handle. The raw material is completely disinfected as part of a 1day boiling process. The final product has been scientifically tested and detailed as “Non harmful” by a Ceylon Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (CIRIS) report. This report is available for perusal if required.

Is the production process detrimental to the environment?
The CIRIS report detailed above again concludes that the whole of the Maximus activity and production processes are environmentally sound. No dyes or chemical additives are used to produce the Elephant Dung paper. Only non-toxic soil dyes are used to produce our Earth / Rainbow ranges. No bleaches are used in any of our products
